Dr. Maxine Baum was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors at UCLA and a medical degree with honors from University of Southern California School of Medicine. She then completed her Internal Medicine training at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. Her specialty training in Allergy and Immunology was completed at the UCLA-affiliated West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Medical Center, and she continued on as faculty at the West LA VA Medical Center as an assistant clinical professor of medicine. She joined private practice with Dr. Eitches in 1995.
Dr. Baum specializes in the evaluation and treatment of allergic and immunologic conditions for both children and adults. She treats a wide variety of allergic problems including nasal and eye allergies, drug allergies, food allergies, asthma, and chronic sinusitis. She is a staff member at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. Her role as an assistant clinical professor at UCLA School of Medicine continues as an active teacher and mentor of doctors in training and allergists at the West LA VA Medical Center.
